There used to be a really awesome Ayem Penyet stall that I went long ago nearby Simei MRT but I'm not sure if it's still there. With recommendation from one of my friend, we made our way to NEX Shopping Mall for Ayam Penyet. They do have a outlet in Lucky Plaza too.
We were there on a Friday night, the queue was not so bad when we reached at 7pm but after we were seated shortly, the queue was pretty long. I don't think they take any reservations though.
As you can see, it's pretty crowded already.
Here's their menu. We didn't try anything else except the fried chicken and rice.
It's super spicy but pretty shiok.
Well... The chicken wasn't too bad but could be better if it was hotter. It was kinda cold when it was served. Feels like it was cooked awhile ago and left to wait for customers to come then serve them. I think Lucky Plaza is better, at least it was served warm when I went long ago.
We ordered ice lemon tea and probably that was the worst choice ever. It was terrible, I couldn't even pinch my nose to drink because it tasted nothing like ice lemon tea and it's just weird. So never order ice lemon tea if you decide to patronize.
Then again, I might reconsider going back but definitely no ice lemon tea.
