Kiyomizu-dera Temple & Ninen-zaka and Sannen-zaka preserved districts
Address: 1-294 Kiyomizu, Higashiyama-ku 東山区清水1-294
Nearest Station: Gion-Shinjo
Admission is 300yen
It's a long walk from the station but you'd not get lost due to the signage by the road and the crowd heading in the same direction as you. It's a really beautiful but crowded place when I was there. I took a short stroll around the temple and enjoyed the beautiful scenery before leaving the temple.
This is the tourist guide I found while waiting for my train. Tried my best to take this as I could. Hahaha
Once you exit the station, there will be signage along the way.
Can you see if from far?
You can take this photo by the bridge.
Just right outside the temple you will find a bustling shopping street with food and souvenirs for you to shop. Grab a matcha ice cream and continue your journey!
Awesome matcha for 300yen.
I decided to route my way from the temple all the way to Nishiki Market. It's roughly about 30-40 minutes walk but it was a really fruitful walk because I was rewarded with beautiful scenery along the way to my destination.
Nishiki Market
Address: Nishikikoji-dori, Nakagyo-ku (between Teramachi and Takakura) 中京区錦小路通り
Nearest Station: Kawaramachi
Thankfully I joined my friends whom also happen to be in Kyoto else I wouldn't have been able to eat so much awesome street food! I settled my lunch with some munch here before I departed from them to continue my journey for the day.
Octopus with quail egg
One stick for 300yen
If I am not wrong, this was 350yen, fluffy omelette!
Sashimi on a stick for 200yen each.
A box of goodness of matcha warabimochi for 500yen. And yes we finished the entire box.
Fushimi Inari Taisha 伏見稲荷大社
Address: 68 Yabunouchi-cho, Fukakusa, Fushimi-ku 伏見区深草藪之内町68
Nearest Station: Inari
You probably would have seen this everywhere on the internet as a must go. This fox shrine is famous for its iconic orange 'gateway' with endless stairs to climb. I took my time here to climb up to the top and came back down just right before the sun set. It's not a easy climb but the journey up was rewarding.
Here's me and the signage saying I've reached the top. (took this photo and sent to my family hhahah) I was very tired, but totally worth the view. Burnt enough calories for more food!
Piccolo Curry House
Address: Inside Namba Walk
Nearest Station: Nambai
Spent: 800yen
I wanted to grab my dinner at Kyoto station but it was so horribly packed... I decided to just head back to Osaka for the night. I had nothing in mind to eat but the curry scent attracted me to this really claustrophobic restaurant. It's so tiny that there's only bar counters and you're leaning against the shutters. They don't even have English menu, I had to order by taking photo of the food on display and point to the restaurant owner. But let me tell you, it was way better curry as compared to the Pomme's I had yesterday. It was absolutely satisfying for the price I paid and the portion I was served. I finished any drop of curry and went home with a happy tummy.
