Dim Sum: 126 搵到食

Apart from Japanese, Korean and Thai food.... another major love is dimsums! (Especially custard buns *insert hearts*)

So I've been to a couple of places like.. Royal China at Raffles Hotel, Swee Choon, Victor's Kitchen (link can be found here) and East Ocean Restaurant (link can be found here) and this time I'm here at 126 at Geylang. I would love to try Yumcha one day and of course Tim Ho Wan when the queue dies down.

Here's briefly what we had that night but well I can't recall all the names of it. :/

This is onion pancake (I think)

Wrapped chicken wings which was damn awesome.

Major love is Har Gow!

Oh, I didn't take the custard buns cause.... they all look the same. Hahahaahha.

Till then I'd share more pictures of dimsums~! Oh and I think this is cheaper then Swee Choon. But the parking is insane.

Fei Fei Wanton Noodle @ Joo Chiat

There used to be a really nice wanton noodle stall just down the street nearby my place. I remember eating it when I was much younger but after it was passed down to his son, the standard dropped so I stopped eating it all together.

Other then Pontian which is also in my area, there's another wanton mee that isn't too bad too.

It's pretty far from where I'm staying so I don't get to go there often. Located at Joo Chiat, a coffee shop that operates 24 hours, they don't have much parking lots nearby. I don't see any bus stops nearby too.

Comparing these noodles and Pontian, I would say that it's rather different. But for the fried wanton, I would choose this over Pontian's. The chili sauce is alot better.

Korean: Ssikkek Korean Grill Buffet Restaurant

Recently I'm kinda overloaded with Korean food but it's okay because I love them! :D

This branch is the first time I'm visiting and one thing bout them that's really good is their BBQ stove! Usually they would change the aluminium foils but this? They change the entire metal tray which is much more hygiene!

Great Chef Chris in action!

I love this too because they provide rice cake! *nomnomnom* Each pax was $25.60 nett. ($24+ no GST)

Cafe Mosaic: Carlton Hotel Singapore

It was my first time at Carlton Singapore. It was a Saturday afternoon hence we went to Cafe Mosaic for a lunch cum high tea session.

The variety of food for lunch wasn't too amazing. I was pretty disappointed that the sashimi only offered Salmon. I was expecting at least Tuna too.

They had a salad bar (which wasn't too bad, they had a wide variety of toppings for you to mix and match your own), a sushi bar which was pretty disappointing too. The variety is just too little. Dessert section wasn't too bad but there wasn't any macaroons. (There were some macaroons for display purposes at that section but during lunch there wasn't any to be seen)

Did not take any photos of those cooked food. The usual like fishes, chicken, beef etc. Oh they have Hainianese Chicken Rice (which honestly was not bad), Laksa, Lor Mee and 3 kinds of Dim Sum which was disappointing too.

Overall the food was alright, nothing really fantastic about (perhaps dinner would have more variety) but what was really good was that they have story telling sessions for kids, oh and kids under the age of 8 dines for free. They gave out free balloons and even had a kids baking session for you to participate in. They are all free when adults dine in. It's really good for parents whom wish to have their kids occupied and enjoy their high tea with friends.

Look at the amount of balloons that Kimberly was given.

I particularly like this one though. Hahha, Hi Octopus.

So the kids would first start off by having a story telling session that is about 30-45 minutes. Next would be the baking session for the kids.

Here's little Kimmy waiting for the batter to be ready.

Used to be really hard taking a photograph with her but now it's not that tough anymore!

Here's this cheeky little girl. (She's only going 3 but she's so tall!)

So here she goes making her own muffins.

Here's the rest of the kids.

She particularly picked only the chocolate M&Ms cause she loved chocolates.

And after 20 minutes, it's ready! (By then Kimmy had fallen asleep in her pram after a long afternoon for her.)

Doesn't look too bad from a 3 year old! Good job Kim! :)

It was a fruitful afternoon spent with my family. We ate and ate from 12 till 4pm! I even had 2 rounds of desserts. (calories overload)

Cafe: Carpenter & Cook

Here's another new location to my entry of cafes entries.

Carpenters & Cook which is located at 19 Lorong Kilat.

The entire area there is pretty quiet, not really accessible but there's bus stops nearby. Nook's is at the same stretch too. (Which is another place that I'd head over one day soon)

We went on a quiet Friday afternoon. It's free seating so I got to choose my own seats. They don't have too many big tables so going in a big group of 6 pax would be pretty troublesome. 4s is good enough.

My view from the table I chose. Right infront turn right should be the washroom.

Pretty much self service and you gotta order your own and pay at the counter. Most of the desserts and pies are displayed at the shelves.

I had a tough choice between a sweet and savory choice cause it all looked too delicious. So I made a sweet choice in the end.
Here's my Caramel Cheesecake with Walnuts

The savoury choice that I initially was interested in. Mushroom and bacon..... something I forgot. :/

Quiche, which I can't recall what name it was too.

This chocolate drink is really awesome. Ought to drink this when you go there.

Pretty much a really nice afternoon spent there. Cozy with good desserts.

Thank you Ally for the treat! :)
